Problem

Engineers reached for 49 different spreadsheets — each with its own assumptions — to spec linear fixtures. Errors compounded into a 7.3% NC rate.

Approach

Audited every legacy calculator and consolidated logic into a single model
Built a guided Excel + VBA tool with input validation and audit trail
Retired the two legacy applications after a parallel-run validation period

Outcome

One canonical tool, faster quoting, and a non-conformance rate cut to roughly a third of its prior level.
